Elnur Mehdiyev

Elnur Mehdiyev (Elnur Mehdi) was born in Baku.

He studied at the directing faculty of the Azerbaijan State University of Culture and Art (1992-1997).

He was a director and scriptwriter of many short films at the "Mozalan" studio (1998-2007).

In 2002, he worked as a director of a number of programs on Lider TV and as a production director on the television play "Planet Parni iz Baku".

He was awarded the "Humay" award in the nomination "Best Director" of television plays (2002).

In 2001-2011, he worked as a teacher at the theater and cinema department of the Republican Art Gymnasium.

He defended his dissertation on the topic "Stages of development of professional director's art in Azerbaijani theater" and received a PhD in art history (2011).

He has been engaged in pedagogical activity at the Azerbaijan State University of Culture and Arts for a long time, working as a teacher at the Theater Director Department (2012-2014), a teacher at the Cinema and Television Arts Department (2014-2018), a senior teacher (since 2018), and a dean at the Faculty of Audiovisual Arts (2019-2023). Since 2023, he has been the head of the Cinema and Television Arts Department.

Director Elnur Mehdiyev is the son of director Jahangir Mehdiyev.
