Elman Sheydayev (Elman Dadashoghlu) was born in Guba.
He studied at the Azerbaijan State Institute of Arts (1971-1976).
He worked as an actor at the Sheki State Drama Theater (1976-1981). In 1981, he began his career at the "Azerbaijanfilm" film studio as an assistant director. He worked at the "Azerbaijanfilm" film studio and in the Azerbaijani editorial office of Lider television.
He is an Honored Worker of Culture (2018).
Director Elman Sheydayev is the brother of makeup artist Irada Gulbabayeva.
