Boyukagha Mammadov (Mirmammad Mammadov) was born in Baku.

He studied at the Baku Choreographic School (1955).

He was a soloist of the Azerbaijan State Philharmonic Song and Dance Ensemble (1946-1966). In 1966, he was appointed artistic director of the dance collectives of the House of Technical and Artistic Creativity and the Yuri Gagarin Palace of Pioneers. For a long time, he led the "Cujalarim" dance ensemble. In 1971, he began teaching at the Baku Choreographic School. In addition to national dances such as "Naz Elema" and "Gaytaghi", his repertoire included dances of other nations. He was a laureate of the World Festival of Students and Youth held in Berlin (1951), Warsaw (1953) and Moscow (1957).

People's Artist (1965), Honored Teacher Boyukagha Mammadov died in 2018.
