Babak Abbaszadeh was born in Baku.

He studied Film Directing at the Azerbaijan State University of Culture and Art (2010-2014, Eldar Guliyev's course).

He worked as a production director at the ARB Aran Film Creative Center, which operated under ARB television (2016-2020). Here he directed dozens of documentaries and also wrote scripts for many of them. His films have participated in local and international festivals and received awards.

His articles have been published in various media outlets, newspapers and magazines many times.

He is the author of the libretto for the opera "Atatürk" by composer Ogtay Rajabov.

He translated the novel "Psycho" by American science fiction writer Robert Bloch into Azerbaijani, and the work was published in book form in 2021.

Since 2020, he has been working at the Azerbaijan State Film Fund. He is currently the head of the department in this institution.

Since 2024, he has been a member of the Board of Directors of the Azerbaijan Professional Film Directors Guild.
