Azer Guliyev was born in Baku.
He studied at the Azerbaijan State University of Culture and Arts, majoring in Film Studies.
He was awarded the Presidential Prize for Youth (2022).
The film "As if You Were Not There" was selected for the short film competition section at the Cannes International Film Festival (2024).
