Aydin Aghasiyev was born in Baku.
He studied at the cello department of music school No. 6, at the Asef Zeynalli music college, and at the composition department of the Azerbaijan State National Conservatory (Khayyam Mirzazadeh's class).
He worked as the artistic director of the song and dance ensemble at the Nakhchivan State Drama Theater, the head of the department and deputy director of the music theory department at the music college (1979). He composed music for performances at the Nakhchivan Drama Theater. He worked as a high-ranking sound director on Azerbaijani television for a long time.
He was awarded first place at the creative meeting of USSR composers in St. Petersburg (1973).
He is the author of songs, symphonic works, performance and film music.
Aydin Aghasiyev died in 2011.
