Asif Rustamov was born in Baku. He studied at the Azerbaijan University of Economics (1992-1995), the Azerbaijan State University of Culture and Art (2000-2004), and the AVANTI courses (2003-2004). He worked as a director at Lider Television (2004-2005), Public Television (2005-2006), and the Dervish Producer Center (2006-2008), and as a specialist in International Relations at the “Azerbaijanfilm” film studio (2020-2022). He was one of the directors of the full-length documentary “Farewell Tour” (2015), produced in Estonia and Kyrgyzstan (together with Tatyana Mülbayer). His films have received various international awards. He has participated as a member of the jury at many international festivals. He is the founder of the Kinoatelye 24K studio and co-founder of the Young Film Producers Association.
