Asgar Mammadoghlu (Alasgar Mammadoghlu / Alasgar Mammadov) was born in Baku.

He studied at the Drama and Film Acting Faculty of the Azerbaijan State Institute of Arts (1975).

In 1977, he was accepted into the artistic staff of the Academic National Drama Theater. In 1982, he moved to the Sumgayit State Drama Theater, and after 6 months to the Educational Theater. In 1987, he returned to the Academic National Drama Theater and worked there until the end of his life.

He starred in the film “Tehran-43” (1980, directors Aleksandr Alov, Vladimir Naumov / Russia, France, Switzerland), produced by foreign filmmakers, as Gulamali.

Honored Artist (2002) Asgar Mammadoghlu died in 2015 and was buried in the “Gurd gapisi” cemetery.
