Arif Maharramov was born in Baku.
He studied at the Azerbaijan State Art School named after Azim Azimzade (1972) and the Art Faculty of the All-Union State Institute of Cinematography (1981).
Since 1981, he has worked as a production designer in feature films, an artist and director in animated films at the “Azerbaijanfilm” film studio. His paintings have been exhibited in Azerbaijan and abroad. He lived and worked in Latvia for a while.
Honored Artist (2000) Arif Maharramov died in 2022.
