Anvar Hasanov was born in Baku.

He studied at the film actor course at the “Azerbaijanfilm” film studio (1965-1969), and at the Faculty of Cinema and Drama Acting of the Azerbaijan State Institute of Arts (1969-1973).

He has worked at the “Azerbaijanfilm” film studio since 1965.

He was the second director of the Iranian film “Apples” (directed by Akbar Sadiqi).

Honored Artist (2000), People's Artist (2018) Anvar Hasanov died in 2025 and was buried at the Buzovna cemetery.

Actor, director Anvar Hasanov was the husband of actress Momunat Gurbanova.
