Amirhuseyn Majidov (Amirhuseyn Elshan) was born in the Tudar village of Khizy.

He studied at the Library Technical School (1961), and at the Musical Theater Actor Department of the Azerbaijan State Institute of Arts (1962-1968, Mehdi Mammadov, Soltan Dadashov's course).

He began his career at the "Azerbaijanfilm" film studio (1963-1967). Since 1967, he has devoted his life to television. He worked as an assistant director and director at the Azerbaijan State Television and Radio Broadcasting Committee. He prepared programs in the "Propaganda and Soviet Lifestyle" editorial office. Since 1970, he has worked in the "Literary Drama" editorial office. When the 7th issue of the "Ozan" program (1981), which he directed, was shown on the screen, he was presented with a state award. Another successful work was the "Durna tel" program, which he authored and directed. In 1994, he became the director of Vahid Studio. Later, he worked as a press advisor at Azersun Holding. He was the president of the Ozan Ocagi company. He is the author of 5 books. In 1998, he compiled the Encyclopedic Collection. His plays have been staged in various theaters. He is the founder of the Mikayil Mushfig Memorial Prize. He was awarded the Araz literary high prize.

Amirhuseyn Majidov died in 2006.

Director Amirhuseyn Majidov is the father of director Iman Majidov.
