Ali Zeynalov was born in Salyan.
He studied at the Baku Pedagogical College and the Theater College (1933).
He gained popularity with the leading role in the play “Sheyda” prepared by the Bilasuvar youth (1928). For a while, he had production experience in Moscow theaters. He worked at the Sheki State Drama Theater, the Yerevan State Azerbaijan Drama Theater (1934-1945), and the Azerbaijan State Academic National Drama Theater (1945-1975). He starred in the Ukrainian film producers’ “Kievli: Varisler – 3rd film” (1958, 1960, directed by Timofey Levchuk). He left the stage in 1975. He had a soft timbre voice, clear diction, and was also known as a master of artistic recitation. He taught “Stage Speech” at the Azerbaijan State Institute of Arts. He is the author of the book “If I Had Two Lives...”
Honored Artist (1955), Honored Artist of Armenia (1939), People's Artist (1964), laureate of the Republic Prize named after M.F. Akhundov (1965) Ali Zeynalov died in 1988 and was buried in the Yasamal cemetery.
Actor Ali Zeynalov was the husband of actress Mirvari Novruzova.
