Alakbar Muradov (Alakbar Murad) was born in the village of Amirjan in Baku.

He studied at the Azerbaijan Petrochemical Institute (1966-1971), and at the Cinematography Department of the All-Union Institute of Cinematography in Moscow (1973-1978).

He worked at the “Azneftkhim” studio under the Azerbaijan Petrochemical Institute (1966), at the “Azerbaijanfilm” film studio, at the Screen Creative Union of Azerbaijan Television, and at Lider Television.

He taught photojournalism at Baku Slavic University.

Honored Artist (2005) Alakbar Muradov died in 2013.

Director, cinematographer Alakbar Muradov is the father of director Murad Muradov.
