Akif Islamzadeh

Akif Islamzadeh was born in Baku.
He studied at the Azerbaijan Institute of National Economy (1979). He is a consumer accountant by profession.
At the age of 12, he sang the song "Shepherd Qara" by Agabachi Rzayeva as a soloist of the children's choir of the Azerbaijan Television and Radio. He began performing in 1972 as a vocalist of the Song Theater named after Rashid Behbudov. Since 1976, he has worked in the symphony orchestra of Tofig Ahmadov at the Azerbaijan State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company. He was a vocalist of the Azerbaijan State Concert. In 1986, a malignant tumor formed on one of the vocal cords. One of the vocal cords was removed during surgery. This ended his career as a singer. For a while, he was the head of the Baku City Main Department of Culture (1992-1993). He was awarded the "Shohrat" order (2023).
