Akif Hasanoghlu (Akif Zeynalov) was born in the city of Fuzuli.
He studied at the Azerbaijan State Institute of Oil and Chemistry.
He came to Sumgayit at the age of 22 - in 1964 as a young engineer-mechanic. At the age of 30, he was promoted to the position of chief mechanic of the "Kimyasenaye" Production Association, which united several enterprises (1972). He was the head of the "Sumgayitkauchuk-temirtikinti" Trust. In 1988-1990, he provided material and technical assistance to the border regions that were experiencing difficult times. He created more than 50 Repair and Construction Departments of the Association in Lachin, Fuzuli, Gubadli and Jabrayil, provided jobs to more than 1,200 refugees and internally displaced persons, and gave shelter to hundreds of our refugee compatriots. One of his services was the financial and moral assistance he provided in organizing and popularizing the "7-17" television contests, which played a role in revealing young talents.
He was also engaged in literary creativity. His plays were staged in theaters. He was awarded the Osman Mirzayev Republican Prize.
