Agharahim Rahimov

Agharahim Rahimov was born in the Boyat village of Ujar.
He studied at the Ganja State Pedagogical Institute (1967-1972).
He worked as a teacher in his native village (1972), deputy director for educational affairs (1972-1974). He was a research worker at the Azerbaijan Scientific Research Institute of Pedagogical Sciences (1976), head of department (1985). In 1992, he founded Baku Girls' University. Since that year, he has been its rector.
He is the author of 46 pedagogical books and booklets, "Azerbaijani language" for the 4th grade, "Methodology of teaching the mother tongue" textbooks for pedagogical faculties of higher schools, "Theoretical and practical foundations of teaching syntax", "Development of monological speech in Azerbaijani language lessons", "Reading training in primary grades", and about 300 articles. He has published 31 fiction books, including stories, novels, essays, plays, and scripts. He is a publicist, playwright, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences (1993), professor (1993), and laureate of the "Golden Pen" award.
