Adil Babirov

Adil Babirov was born in Baku. He studied at the Baku Music School named after Asaf Zeynalli (1954, Ahmad Bakikhanov's class), the Faculty of Composition of the Azerbaijan State Conservatory. Under the guidance of Gara Garayev, he wrote many works until the 5th year, but had to leave the last year due to health problems. After a long time, in 1978, he returned to the conservatory and graduated with a symphonic composition. From a young age, he worked as a sound director and editor of music programs on television and radio. He was also engaged in pedagogical activities, and for some time he worked as a teacher at the Department of Musical Performance of the Azerbaijan State Pedagogical Institute. In the 1990s, he moved to Canada, where he was engaged in both pedagogical activities and creativity. Honored Artist (1989) Adil Babirov died in 2021 in a nursing home where he lived in Toronto, Canada, and was buried there.
