Abbas Rzayev was born in Zanjan, South Azerbaijan. He studied at the acting department of the Baku Theater School (1924-1927). He first appeared on stage in 1924 in the drama circle of the Sailors' Club. In 1926, he was accepted into the acting troupe of the National Drama Theater. He was one of the first actors of the Azerbaijan Puppet Theater. He played the role of a cinema mechanic in the Russian-made film "My Kind Father" (1970, directed by Igor Usov). Honored Artist (1940) Abbas Rzayev died in 1976.
