The purpose of the center's creation is to provide a wide platform for young directors to realize their creative potential: Tahir Tahirovic linked the name of the cinema center to the city of the same name in Slovenia: "The city of Nova Gorica is very dear to me. Some time ago, the documentary film "Pseudo-Mikhaylo" was awarded an award in that city. I gave this name in honor of that city, as a kind of token of gratitude to that city."
