THE FILM "SHOVKAT", DEDICATED TO THE FIRST FEMALE SHIP CAPTAIN OF AZERBAIJAN, WAS PRESENTED
The presentation ceremony of the feature film “Shovket” dedicated to the first female ship captain of Azerbaijan, Shovket Salimova, was held at the initiative of ASCO, one of the AZCON Holding companies. Speaking at the presentation, ASCO Board Chairman Rauf Valiyev said that the presentation of the film, which is based on the rich heritage of shipping with a history of 167 years, on October 22 is of special importance. It was on this day in 2013 that “Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping” CJSC, currently operating under the ASCO brand, was established by the relevant Decree of Mr. President Ilham Aliyev through the merger of two ancient and large fleets operating in the country. The feature film was then shown. Following the presentation, the creative team of the film was invited to the stage.
More than 70 local and foreign specialists, as well as more than 100 actors, participated in the production of the film. The image of Shovket Salimova was played by young actress Nazrin Abdullayeva. The film also stars People's Artist Gurban Ismayilov, actors Hikmet Rahimov, Elsevar Rahimov, Nigar Mursalova and other well-known figures. The film's script was written by Tural Ibrahimov and Asif Rustamov, directors of the "Surakhani" ship museum, Asif Rustamov, production director, Rauf Gurbanaliyev, chief producer Tural Ibrahimov, and executive producer Sabina Hasanova.
Ships belonging to the ASCO fleet and various real locations were widely used during the filming. Unique props were also prepared to reflect the spirit of the era.
