Yeva Olenskaya (Yevgeniya Olenskaya) was born in Guba. In 1907, she moved to Baku with her family.

She studied at the Baku Theatrical Technical School (1923-1926).

With the efforts and initiative of her older sister, she first appeared on stage at the age of 13 and linked her fate with theater art for life. From the first years of her creative career, she played in performances prepared by the "Nicat" (1913), "Safa" troupes, and the "Zulfugar bey and Uzeyir bey Hajibeyov brothers' management" (1918-1919) opera and drama troupe. For many years, she performed on stage under the pseudonym "Yeva khanum". She worked at the Baku Turkish Free Criticism and Propaganda Theater (1922-1925), and then for 34 years at the National Drama Theater (1925-1959).

People's Artist (1949) Yeva Olenskaya died in Baku in 1959.

Actress Yeva Olenskaya is the sister of actress Alexandra Olenskaya.
