Tahir Tahirov was born in Baku.
He studied at the Faculty of Art of the Azerbaijan State Institute of Arts (1973).
At various times, he gave artistic solutions to performances at the Academic National Drama Theater, the State Theater for Young Spectators, and the State Russian Drama Theater. He was a production designer for events of state importance. For a while, he worked as a production designer at the State Academic Opera and Ballet Theater.
Honored Artist (2002), People's Artist (2013) Tahir Tahirov passed away in 2019.
