Sakina Ismayilova

Sakina Ismayilova was born in Baku.
She studied in the mugham class of the Asaf Zeynalli Music School (1974) and the Azerbaijan State University of Arts (1990).
Since 1980, she has been invited to the Opera and Ballet Theater. The images of Leyli, Asli, Shahsenem, and Gulbahar have been well received by the audience. Mugham (Segah, Qatar, Simayi-shams, etc.), tasnif, and folk songs occupy a wide place in her repertoire.
She is a teacher at the Azerbaijan State University of Culture and Arts and the Azerbaijan National Conservatory.
Honored Artist (1988), People's Artist (1992), and recipient of the "Shohrat" Order (2016), Sakina Ismayilova is the first female singer to perform mugham with a gaval.
