Ramiz Malik-Aslanov was born in Baku.

He studied at the Bulbul Special Music School (1959), the Cello Class of the Baku Conservatory, and the Postgraduate Course in Conducting at the Leningrad Conservatory (1971).

He began to study music from childhood. Since 1971, he has been the artistic director and chief conductor of the Symphony Orchestra of the Azerbaijan State Television and Radio Committee. For a while, he worked in the orchestra of the Cairo Conservatory (1977–1979). After returning to his homeland, he became the director and conductor of the Gara Garayev State Chamber Orchestra. He was honored to conduct the Royal Symphony Orchestras of Moscow, St. Petersburg, and London. He is the conductor of the Istanbul Conservatory.

Professor (1993), laureate of international competitions, Honored Artist, People's Artist (1991).
