Gulustan Aliyeva

Gulustan Aliyeva was born in Yevlakh.

She studied in the music club at the Pioneers' House, at the Bulbul Secondary Specialized Music School (1982-1985), and in the Mugham class of the Azerbaijan State Conservatory (1985-1990).

She was the winner of the Republican Competition of Young Talents (1981). In 1992, she began her career as a music teacher at the school named after her martyred husband in the Gunashli settlement of the Beylagan district. In 1993, after the occupation of the Jabrayil district, she came to Baku as an IDP. In 1994, she worked as a teacher at secondary school No. 170 of the Sabunchu district. She worked as a soloist at the Mugham Theater (1995-1996). Since 1997, she has been a soloist at the Academic Opera and Ballet Theater. Since 2003, she has been a teacher at the Mugham Department of the Azerbaijan National Conservatory, an associate professor of the department since 2017, and a doctor of philosophy in art history since 2022. She also teaches at the Republican Art Gymnasium.

She is an Honored Artist (2005).
