Firudin Gurbansoy (Firudin Gurbanov) was born in Baku.

He studied at the Azerbaijan State Pedagogical Institute (1977).

He is the author of more than 100 scientific articles, a participant in international conferences and symposiums. Having independently studied the extinct languages ​​of ancient Babylon, Persia and Elam, he translated historical documents in these languages ​​from the original into our language. He is also engaged in artistic creativity. His plays have been staged in theaters. He is a laureate of the Mikayil Mushfig and Jafar Jabbarli awards. He works as the head of the department at the Azerbaijan National Conservatory. He is a leading researcher at the Nizami Institute of Literature of ANAS.
