Elchin Hamidov was born in Baku.
He studied at the Drama and Film Actor Faculty of the Azerbaijan State Institute of Arts (1977-1981).
Since 1983, he has worked as an artist-vocalist at the Azerbaijan State Musical Comedy Theater. He had a baritone and soprano voice. He became famous for his parodies, roles and characters in the KVN Planet Parni iz Baku.
Honored Artist (2009) Elchin Hamidov died in 2011 and was buried in the Khirdalan cemetery.
