Bahram Mansurov was born in Baku.
Since childhood, he witnessed musical gatherings held at home. His grandfather Mashadi Melik bey was a skilled musician, and musical gatherings were held at his house in the evenings. When he was 19, Muslim Magomayev invited him to the first orchestra of folk musical instruments, and later to the Opera and Ballet Theater as a soloist-tarzan. He was the first Azerbaijani musician whose mughams were recorded on UNESCO records and CDs (1978-1983). After Sadiqjan, he was the tarzan who preserved and promoted classical mughams. For a while, he worked as a teacher at the Asef Zeynalli Music School.

Musician Bahram Mansurov is the father of cameraman Aydin Mansurov and composer Eldar Mansurov.
