Atamoghlan Rzayev was born in the Amirjan settlement of Baku.

He studied at the Factory and Plant School (FZU), Baku Theater Technical School (1932).

He began his labor activity at the Baku Turkish Workers' Theater. In 1935, he became a member of the acting troupe of the National Drama Theater. In between, he worked in the philharmonic society, the Ministry of Culture, and in 1957 returned to the National Drama Theater.

He starred in the role of Bagirov in the Russian-made film "19th Year" (1937, directed by Ilya Trauberg).

Honored Artist (1949) Atamoghlan Rzayev died in Baku in 1966.
