Alexander Sharovski was born in Baku.

He studied at the Azerbaijan State Institute of Foreign Languages ​​(1973).

He worked as an actor at the Azerbaijan State Theater of Young Spectators (1967-1976), an actor at the Azerbaijan State Russian Drama Theater (1976-1991), an assistant director (1978-1990), a production director (1991-1993), and a chief director (1993-2026). He directed performances at the Odessa Russian Drama Theater, the Rostov Drama Theater, and the Moscow Miniature Theater named after Bashir Safaroglu.

He starred in the short feature film “Salandar” (1994, directed by Rafi Pitts / France, Russia) by foreign filmmakers, and in the TV series “Graf Krestovsky” (2004, directed by Ramiz Fataliyev / Russia) as Asya’s father.

He is the head of the European Jewish community in Baku.

He is a laureate of the Honored Artist (1988), People's Artist (1998), "Golden Dervish" and "Humay" awards, and the "Shohrat" (2008) and "Sharaf" orders (2018).
