Aida Taghizadeh was born in Shusha.
She studied at the Asef Zeynalli Music College and the Uzeyir Hajibeyov Conservatory, where she studied piano performance (2 years) and musicology.
She has been working at the Baku Music Academy since 1958. She has researched composers.
She continued her work at Bilkent University in Ankara, Turkey for a while (1996-2007).
She is an Honored Artist (1987), Candidate of Art History (1969), and Professor (1986).
