Aghamurad Shirvanli

Aghamurad Shirvanli (Ashig Aghamurad Israfilov) was born in the village of Marzandiye, Shamakhi region.
He began to learn the secrets of ashug art at the age of 18. Ashug considers Rza Gobustanli to be his master. Since 1988, he has been performing at gatherings and has gained a following through his performances at events held in the regions and in Baku. In 1993, he actively participated in the creation of the “Inje teller” ashug ensemble at the Shamakhi Region Culture and Tourism Department, and currently leads this collective. His performances as a well-known representative of Azerbaijani ashug art in Turkey, Iran, and Dagestan have earned him awards.
He is an Honored Worker of Culture (2011).
