SUAD GARA'S "MAHSATI" STARTS ITS FESTIVAL LIFE

Director Suad Gara's short film "Mahsati" begins its international festival journey. The film's first stop will be the 11th Mammoth Lakes Film Festival (California). A modern tale built in the spirit of feminism, "Mahsati" is about the inner searches and attempts to recognize herself of a young actress who tries to resemble the Azerbaijani poetess Mehsati Ganjavi, who lived in the 12th century. Mina has difficulty portraying the role of the poetess Mehsati Ganjavi, one of the scandalous figures of her time. A woman who goes on a one-night stand in the city with the encouragement of her friends and meets a charming man turns her search for inspiration into an adventure reminiscent of an oriental fairy tale. The film stars Fargana Abdulla, Javanshir Sardarli, Elnur Musayev, Maleksima Mammadova and Ilgar Aydin. The film's cinematographer is Barbu Balasu, and the composer is Katya Yonder.
The film, a joint production of Azerbaijan ("CINEX Production") and Romania ("MicroFilm" company), is produced by Mariya Ibrahimova and Ada Solomon.
