SCREENPLAYERS' PROBLEMS DISCUSSED
The participants of the meeting held on December 24, Ramil Alakbarov, Parviz Mammadov, Nijat Dadashov, Ismayil Iman, Elvin Pasha, Sara Huseynova, Elkhan Khanalizadeh, Ulviyya Heydarova, Khanim Aydin, and the executive secretary of the AKI, Ali Isa Jabbarov, discussed the problems of our modern film dramaturgy.
The participants mainly focused on the problems that arise in the relationship between screenwriters and customers. The main subjects of discussion were the preparation of a single contract model, the organization of master classes to increase the level of professionalism, the publication of professional literature, the protection of copyright, and royalties. The importance of legal support for screenwriters in case of violation of labor rights by customers was noted.
The secretary of the AKI, who participated in the meeting, spoke about the literature published to support screenwriters, and announced that, in addition to the publication of Linda Seger's book with the support of the AKI, the publication of A. Chervinsky's and Sid Field's books was planned, and provided information about the screenwriter trainings organized by the union.
During the discussions, the importance of continuous communication and mutual support among screenwriters was particularly emphasized. It was noted that the formation of common mechanisms for healthy development in this area is important. The importance of having a platform for open dialogue and organization around the real problems and daily professional experiences of screenwriters was noted. During the discussions about the form of organization, the participants decided to hold the next discussions in a broader format.
