RASHAD AZIZOV APPOINTED DIRECTOR GENERAL OF THE FILM AGENCY OF THE REPUBLIC OF AZERBAIJAN

The Cinema Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan, which operates under the Ministry of Culture, has been appointed as the Director General. Rashad Azizov was appointed to this position by the relevant order of the Minister of Culture Adil Karimli.

Rashad Azizov was born in 1980 in Baku. In 1996-2002, he completed his bachelor's and master's degrees at the Faculty of Law of Baku State University, and since 2003, he has completed postgraduate studies and doctoral studies at St. Petersburg State University. In 2017, he defended his scientific work on the topic "Legal regulation in the Internet network: comparative and historical-legal research" and received the degree of Doctor of Law.
In 2022-2023, he received a master's degree in the use of artificial intelligence in the civil service at the Milan Polytechnic University.
Conducting scientific research in the fields of information and digital development, Rashad Azizov is the author of 6 books, 2 monographs, and more than 30 articles published in scientific journals in our country and abroad.
He has held various positions in a number of state institutions and has over 20 years of civil service experience. In 2016, he was awarded the medal “For Distinction in Civil Service” by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
Since 2012, he has worked as a teacher at the Academy of Public Administration under the President, Baku State University, and Azerbaijan State University of Culture and Arts on information and electronic law, innovation and digital development, and business management in the field of culture. Since 2013, he has been the head of the “Azerbaijani Cheerful and Resourceful Club”.
Until his last appointment, he worked as the head of the Department of Creative Industries and Digital Development of the Ministry of Culture. He closely participated in the implementation of a number of projects on culture and creative industries implemented by the Ministry in recent years, as well as the “Baku Cinema Breeze” International Film Festival and the “Eastern Countries Film Industry Market”. He is a member of the Expert Council on “Evaluation of the Content of Cinematography, Digital and Other Audiovisual Works” under the Ministry of Culture. He participated in the preparation of drafts of the “eCulture Digital Development Strategy of the Ministry of Culture”, classification of cultural and creative industries, “Competition Rules for the Support of Film Production of the Cinema Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan”, “Rules for Partial Reimbursement of Expenses Incurred for the Production of Films (Rebate)” and other regulatory and legal acts.
