NURLAN HASANLI'S FILM PROJECT "FAMILY PORTRAIT OF AN AMATEUR PHOTOGRAPHER" RECEIVES PRODUCTION SUPPORT

Nurlan Hasanli's debut full-length documentary project "Family Portrait of an Amateur Photographer" was awarded with production support by the IDFA Bertha Fund.
The film reflects the process of the director making a film with his family. The director asks his family for help in making the film. He intends to use them as actors. The theme of the short script to be shot is to bring his family members together and take a family photo. However, the documentary makes it clear that it is even more difficult to bring together real family members, each with their own unique problems.
It should be noted that the project previously received development support from the same fund, won the pitching competition held within the framework of the Al Jazeera Balkans Documentary Film Festival, was selected for the IDFA Project Space, ”B2B Doc”, “CineDoc Tbilisi”, “When East Meet West”, GoEast East-West Talent Laboratory, “Jihlava New Visions”, “Close-Up” development programs, and was presented at the Berlin Film Festival European Film Market (2024). The project also received a small grant from the Union of Cinematographers of Azerbaijan.
The film is a joint production of Azerbaijan and Georgia. The producers of the film are Emil Najafov and Irina Gelashvili, and the director of photography is Natig Khusiyev.
