CINEAM AGENCY ALLOCATES FUNDING FOR 5 NEW FILM PROJECTS
The stage of the "Co-production Support Competition"—organized for the first time by the Cinema Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan (ARKA), which operates under the Ministry of Culture—covering the third quarter of 2026 has concluded.
ARKA informed AZERTAC that the Artistic Quality Control Commission evaluated projects submitted by five companies and made decisions regarding their funding. According to these decisions, 200,000 manats has been allocated to each of the following films: "Parallax" (Azerbaijan, Estonia, Finland, Latvia, Lithuania) by "Nasreddin Production" LLC; "Kapitan" (Azerbaijan, Turkey, Uzbekistan) by "Eloğlu Group of Companies"; "Saxta Sevgili" (Azerbaijan, Bangladesh, Kazakhstan) by "Adrenalin Brothers"; and "Aloha Prestij" (Azerbaijan, Turkey, Bulgaria) by "Navis." Additionally, 300,000 manats has been allocated to the film "Yalanın Məharəti" (Azerbaijan, Turkey) by "Meh-Film" LLC.
Concurrently, the Cinema Agency began accepting applications for the fourth quarter on October 1st. Applications may be submitted via ARKA’s official website or through the "MyCulture" unified personal account portal. In this new phase, Turkey, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, and Georgia are among the priority countries. Preference will be given to projects involving these states that focus on promoting shared historical events, prominent public figures, children’s films, customs and traditions, and national-moral values.
It should be noted that the primary objective of the competition is to expand cooperation with foreign film companies, stimulate joint film production, and enhance the competitiveness of local independent production centers.
