PREPARATIONS ARE UNDERWAY FOR THE FILMING OF "ATROPATENA"
Preparations for the filming of the film “Atropatena” have begun. The feature-length documentary is being produced by Caspian Media Group and will be 55-60 minutes long.
The project, commissioned by the Ministry of Culture and supported by the Cinema Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan (ARKA), is directed by Elmar Bayramov, scriptwriter Nijat Dadashov, production designer Rauf Gurbanaliyev, production designer Sabuhi Atababayev, and costume designer Vusal Rahim. The film’s composer has not yet been announced.
Rustam Jabrayilov will play the lead role in the film. Other roles will include Duygu Daveli, Samimi Farhad, Manaf Dadashov, Vidadi Hasanov, Rumiye Agayeva, George Gafarov and others.
The project’s general producer is Huseyn Javadzadeh, executive producer Azer Hasanov, and fight choreography specialist Sain Farhad.
According to the story of the film, during the ongoing conquests of Alexander the Great in the Middle East, the Persian satrap Atropate wins the trust of the ruler with his intelligence, political agility and military courage. However, his main goal is not only to serve Alexander, but also to protect his people from the rule of foreigners and lay the foundation of the future state of Atropatena. Against the backdrop of Alexander's palace intrigues and bloody wars, Atropate wins an eternal place in history and in the memory of the nation with his wisdom.
