Tatyana Karimova was born in Leningrad.

She studied at the Leningrad Institute of Cinematography, specializing in sound engineering (1972).

In 1975, she married cameraman Valery Karimov and came to Baku. Since then, she has worked at "Azerbaijanfilm".

She is an Honored Worker of Culture (2011).

Sound engineer Tatyana Karimova is the mother of sound engineer Teymur Karimov.
