Sona Babayeva was born in Baku.
She studied at the Drama and Film Acting Department of the Azerbaijan State Theater Institute (1964).
She has worked at the Azerbaijan State National Young Spectators Theater since 1963.
She starred in the Russian-produced TV series “Students International” (2006, directed by Olga Perunovskaya).
She was awarded the “Progress” (Taraggi) medal (2018).
