Sevil Khalilova was born in Baku.

She studied at the evening department of the Film Actor Course at the “Azerbaijanfilm” film studio (1969-1970), and at the Drama and Film Acting Faculty of the Azerbaijan State Institute of Arts (1970-1974, Adil Isgandarov’s course).

While still a student, she played the role of the professor’s daughter in Nazim Hikmet’s psychological drama “Fame or Forgotten Man” at the Academic National Drama Theater (1973). From 1974 until the end of her life, she worked at the Academic National Drama Theater.

She starred in the Tajik film “Nisso. The First Morning of Youth” (1979, directed by Dovltnazar Khudondazarov, 3 episodes).

Honored Artist of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic (1986), Honored Artist (2002) Sevil Khalilova died in 2011.
