Shamsi Gadirov was born in the village of Chaykend, Gafan district, West Azerbaijan. He studied at the Sumgayit Technical School (1973-1974) and the Baku Communication Technical School, specializing in electricity (1975-1978). Since 1978, he has worked as a lighting engineer at the “Azerbaijanfilm” film studio.
Gaffer Shamsi Gadirov is the father of lighting engineer Sabit Gadirov.
