Sabuhi Atababayev was born in Baku.

He studied at the Faculty of Decorative Applied Arts of the Azim Azimzade College of Arts (2003-2008), the Faculty of Theater Painting of the Azerbaijan State Academy of Arts (2008-2011), and the Master's degree of the Faculty of Theater and Cinematography (2011-2013).

Since 2013, he has been teaching at the Faculty of Academic Painting and Composition of ADRA, and since 2016, at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the Azerbaijan State University of Culture and Art in the specialty "Film Production Artist".

He is a participant in many national and international exhibitions. His works are kept in private collections.

He is a participant in the seminars on cinematography of the New York Film School and the All-Russian State Institute of Cinematography.

Since 2012, he has also worked as a film production designer and art director. He is a production artist of many films, TV series, music videos, and social videos.
