Rustam Rustamov was born in the village of Chakhirly, Jabrayil region. He studied at the Drama and Film Actor Faculty of the Azerbaijan State Institute of Arts (1983-1987). He worked at the Sheki State Musical Drama Theater by appointment (1987-1989). Later he worked at the Sumgayit State Drama Theater (1989-1995), and Azerbaijan State Musical Comedy Theater (1995-1998). Since 2013 he has been an actor of the Azerbaijan State Academic National Drama Theater.
