Rauf Shahsuvarov was born in Lachin.
He studied at the Drama and Film Acting Faculty of the Azerbaijan State Institute of Arts (1985-1991, Eldar Guliyev's course).
He received his first appointment to the Shusha State Musical Drama Theater and worked there with certain breaks (1991-1992, 1993-1994, 1998-2001). He participated in the Karabakh War (1991-1992). He was engaged in trade in Russia for a while (1994-1998). He was an actor of the Baku Children's Theater. He founded the "Lachinfilm" production company and the "Lachin" theater studio under it.
He currently lives in Lachin.
