Rauf Gurbanaliyev was born in the Krasnoyarsk region of Russia. He has lived in Baku since 1990.

He studied at the Cinematography Department of the Azerbaijan State University of Culture and Arts (2006-2010).

He worked as a cameraman at the Azerbaijan International Filming (AIF-company) film company (2011-2012).

He has shot various commercials.

He was awarded the “Best Young Cameraman” award for the film “Paradox” (2013).
