Gamar Mammadova was born in Baku.

She studied at the Drama and Film Acting Faculty of the Azerbaijan State Institute of Arts (1970-1975).

She worked at the Sheki State Drama Theater (1975-1979, 1983-2002), the Educational Theater (1979-1983), the Youth Theater (2002-2009). Since 2009, she has been an actress of the Youth Spectator Theater.

Since 2003, she has been teaching at the Azerbaijan State University of Culture and Art.

Laureate of the “Golden Dervish” award (2002), Honored Artist (2000), Honored Art Worker (2013).
