Nuraddin Mehdikhanli (Nuraddin Guliyev) was born in the village of Tahirli, Jalilabad.

He studied at the Faculty of Drama and Cinema Acting of the Azerbaijan State Institute of Arts (1974-1978, Adil Isgandarov's course).

In 1978, he was appointed to the Academic National Drama Theater and worked there for a while (1978, 1980-1990). For a short time, he was an actor at the Baku Municipal Theater (1992-1994). Since 1994, he has been an actor at the Academic National Drama Theater.

One of the active members of the National Liberation Movement, which began in 1988, he was a leader in the Republican Demonstration Committee, responsible for security issues of rallies and movement leaders. He was the head of the special department and organizational department of the Committee for People's Aid to Karabakh, established in 1989, the deputy chairman of the Committee in 1990, and the first deputy chairman since 1991, and a member of the editorial board of the first independent newspaper, the "Azerbaijan" newspaper. In 1992, he was one of the first members and founders of the Civil Solidarity Party. Since then, he has been a member of the Supreme Assembly and Political Council of the VHP, and the party's secretary for political issues.

He starred in the film "Absurdistan" (2008, directed by Veit Helmer / Germany) by foreign film producers as a beekeeper.

He was awarded the Order of "Glory" (2019). He is an Honored Artist of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic (1986), Honored Artist (1998), and People's Artist (2002).

Actor Nuraddin Mehdikhanli is the brother of actor Gabil Guliyev.
