Nigar Gulahmadova was born in Baku.

She graduated from the Azerbaijan State University of Culture and Arts with a degree in Drama Theater and Film Actor (1997) and the Moscow Theater Institute named after Boris Shchukin.

While still a student, she began her career as an actress at the State Pantomime Theater and worked there for four years. She left the theater for a while. She continued her activities in productions and on television.

Since 2000, she has worked as an artist dancer at the Azerbaijan State Dance Ensemble.

She played the role of Sona Tagiyeva in the British film “Ali and Nino” (2015, directed by Asif Kapadia).

Since 2010, she has been an actress at the Academic National Drama Theater.
