Nariman Abdulrahmanli

Nariman Abdulrahmanli was born in the village of Duzeyram, Garachopy district (Kakheti) of Georgia.
He studied at Azerbaijan State University (1980), and at the All-Union State Institute of Cinematography in Moscow (1983) on a screenwriting course.
Since 1980, he has worked in various positions at the newspapers "Dashkasan" and "Sovet Georgia", the editorial office of the newspaper "Kino" and the magazine "Yeni films", the documentary film studio "Yaddash", the Azerbaijan State Archive of Literature and Art, the TV and film studio of the Ministry of Defense and the magazine "Harbi bilik", Lider television, the magazine "Ulduz", the Center for Artistic Translation and Literary Relations of the Azerbaijan Writers' Union, the publishing houses "Qanun", "Adiloglu", and taught a prose course at the Faculty of Creativity of Baku Slavic University. He worked at the Azerbaijan State Translation Center (2014-2024), was the head of the World Literature Department (2023-2024).
He began his literary work in the early 1980s. His stories, narratives, and novels have been published. In addition to conducting folklore research, he has collected the works of many ashugs and writers, published them in books, and has been the compiler and editor of dozens of books. He is engaged in literary translation, and has published translations from world literature. The book “History of Azerbaijani Cinema” (in 4 volumes) was published (2020).
He was awarded the “Man of Literature” award of the Azerbaijan Creativity Foundation (2018).
